On the morning of her 16th birthday, Lou runs to the kitchen full of anticipation only to find total chaos. She immediately knows that her mother had another mental breakdown -and that she has to take care of her. But then her crush Matz rings the door and invites her to a concert. Lou is torn between the self-sacrifice for her mother and her feelings for Matz. The situation escalates when she secretly invites Matz home.
Tanja Hurrle

She was born in 1998 in the south of Germany. She directed her first short film at the age of eight. Since 2017 she is studying Motion Pictures at the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt. Her main focus is on writing and directing as well as the work with children and young people. Her first student short film "A Fish in a Punch Bowl" won the German Youth Film Award 2019 and was shown at international film festivals. "The Purple Child" is her latest short film which premieres at the LUCAS Filmfestival, Germany’s oldest film festival for a young audience.
