Ebrahim Forouzesh

Born in Tehran in 1939, Ebrahim Forouzesh is best-known for his highly acclaimed film, THE JAR. A graduate of College of Dramatic Arts, began his career as producer in Kanoon Film Center in 1971, and then worked as manager of the center for seven consecutive years. In 1973, his creative work was started with writing the script of an animation entitled THE BLACK BIRD. Also active as producer of more than 90 short and feature films and scriptwriter, he has directed such acclaimed documentaries. His debut feature, THE KEY, was awarded in Chicago Children Film Festival, but with THE JAR, he earned 13 prizes from Locarno, Sao Paulo, etc. A member of the jury at Fajr, Isfahan, Locarno, Cine Junior and Hyderabad, Forouzesh is winner of more than 30 international awards - including CIFEJ Lifetime Achievement Award.
