Marianna Economou

She studied Social Anthropology, Photography/Journalism and Video Production in London. Since 2000 she has been directing documentaries of Greek and foreign co-production which are distributed internationally, and many have won awards at international festivals. Indicative documentaries: “The school”, “My Place in the Dance”, “Bells, Threads and Miracles”, “Listen to me”, “Twelve Neighbours”, “Food for Love”, “Longest run”, “When Tomatoes met Wagner”, which was also the Greek selection for the 2020 Oscars. She is a member of the European Film Academy, of the Hellenic Film Academy and President of the Greek Documentary Association.
