Historical photographic material concerning the 50-year anniversary [1973-2023 ] of the Polytechnic school of Athens events in 1973
During the days of the festival, an exhibition will be held at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Ilida that captures the events of the Polytechnic uprising.
Speech and art were used to capture important events until photographs claimed the "main speech".
The original photos from the archive of Picture GREECE, by the photojournalist Vassilis Karageorgos, an eyewitness-photographer of those days, tell the story of the difficult times when young people boldly wanted to claim their future and forge new paths. Direct, revelatory, penetrating, they are unique documents, where the historian can stoop to extract details and see the truth captured in all its power.
The photo exhibition licenses are courtesy of Picture GREECE and the "Kallichoron" Cultural Society.
The exhibition will be accompanied by audio excerpts with the voices of children who convey testimonies of their grandparents from the Polytechnic uprising, curated by the Skasiarchio Pedagogical Group.
