For most people, how a piece of music is composed is a mystery, a magical process. And it is!
It all starts when one's heart leaps when some sounds are heard in a particular way. And it all ends when the sounds have been run through a multitude of machines to reach the ears of another person whose heart will leap when they hear the same sound. A workshop aimed at teenagers who either know an instrument or have never played a note.
During the workshop:
- We will explore musical ideas
- We will see how music theory, once considered boring reading, can turn into a creative tool.
- We will learn the role of different instruments in an orchestration
- And we will write a song!
When our song is ready, we will turn into sound technicians and:
- We will learn the types of microphones
- We will demonstrate the most common placement techniques
- We will play with basic sound processors
- And we will mix our track to release it on platforms!

Yannis Roupaliotis
He is a music teacher with studies in electric guitar and contemporary theory, specializing in contemporary repertoire and all the instruments of a rock band since 2008. He has been working as a sound engineer in music and theatre productions, since 2004, and in recent years as a music producer at Off Air Studio. He worked at the Athens International Conservatory from 2008 to 2020 and has created four student bands from 2013 to date, one of which achieved an official release in 2023.
