Dear friends of the festival, unfortunately, I couldn’t join you this year at the Festival’s closing ceremony. But I made sure that the Hellenic National Committee for Unicef took part in the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People.
The Committee takes part and awards a feature film with the Unicef Prize in order to demonstrate how the moving image raises public awareness regarding the issues that children and young people face all around the world.
This year, the Unicef Prize goes to a film that shows us the tragic conditions that people experienced right in the heart of Europe. It’s a film that instead of intolerance and fanaticism chooses to promote the values of love and respect. It’s a film of substantial visual merit that serves and promotes some of the most basic children’s rights. As I am sure you all have realised by now, the film that is awarded with the Unicef Prize is:
