2019. Spring flooding in Mississippi hits record highs. In Louisiana, the residents of Pierre-Part are preparing for the worst. Faith and resilience are the two best weapons they still have in the face of uncertainty.
Guillaume Fournier, Samuel Matteau, Yannick Nolin
Following the making of the short documentaries "Laissez les bons temps rouler" (2017) and "Acadiana" (2019), both set in Cajun country, we had the desire to continue our reflections by concluding our Louisiana trilogy through a final filmic essay entitled "Belle River". While "Laissez les bons temps rouler" focuses on the folk and cultural heritage of the Cajuns, and "Acadiana" on the apparent social divide that divides Louisiana as well as the United States, "Belle River" focuses on the Louisiana territory and its quiet inhabitants, both of which are threatened with dissolution by the emerging climate change?
