The opening event includes:
- Honorary certificates will be given to the schools that participated in the film education programme "So, I'll tell you a myth", creating short films on the historic, mythological, and cultural heritage, the environment, and the traditional products of Elis.
- Screening of the film "Touching the Dream" by the Alimos Musical School, where the coexistence of pupils with and without vision impairment in a classroom, at recess, and at the school’s music groups is depicted. An example of inclusivity, that wishes to crush stereotypes and discrimination and lead toward accepting the different. Discussion with the children participating in the film.
- Screening of the in competition film "Nion’s Shadow Puppeteer" by Irina Boyko, Greece 2022, 75', in the presence of the director, the young protagonist and his family.
The opening event will be accessible to deaf and blind persons. The films are screened with subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing and with audio description. There will be a Greek Sign Language interpreter for the speeches and Q&As.
