Instructors: Zoe-Danae Tzamtzi, PhD candidate in the Department of Music Studies UoA, Nikos Poulakis, Department of Music Studies UoA
aimed at middle school third grade and high school children, duration: three four-hour meetings
In this workshop we will try to approach sound as a central component of cinematic narrative and experience. Through cinematic examples and theoretical references we will discover the dynamic relationship between sound and image in cinema. In the practical and experimental part of the workshop, participants will be required to observe and record sound and image, with their mobile phone, as their only tool. In a real-life and group editing process, and with the audio recordings, as the main content, the participants will have the opportunity to improvise on the image, thus creating their own audiovisual narratives.
