Munkhjargal is a 10-year-old female jockey. She and her family of nomadic herders are training to compete in Mongolia’s most important festival, Naadam, following a devastating cycle of extreme winters and dry summers that decimated their flock and threatens their way of life.
Justin Kim WooSŏk
He is a writer-director whose work focuses on loss, displacement, and our changing relationship with the natural world. Born in South Korea and raised in LA, he has lived and worked across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He is a current Sundance Asian American fellow and was previously a recipient of the Fulbright, Thomas J. Watson, Mortimer-Hays Brandeis, and Sony Pictures Classic x IFP Marcie Bloom fellowships.
