Tom is different from the other children. He dislikes changes, red objects, and loud sounds that overwhelm him. His passion is space. He loves running around in his astronaut suit, and in difficult moments, he chooses to wear his helmet. When his mother suddenly has to travel to China, Tom must go stay with his grandparents. Or is it, in fact, a mission to Mars?
Sarah Winkenstette
She is a trained journalist and worked for various children's television programmes on WDR and ZDF before beginning her film studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Her debut film Too far away was released in cinemas in 2020 and won numerous awards at international film festivals. She has since directed various television films and series, including Castle Einstein (Schloss Einstein). Greetings from Mars is her second feature film.
