Tom is different from other children. He doesn't like change, things that are red, and anything loud quickly becomes too much for him. His specialty is outer space. He loves to run around in his space suit, and in difficult situations he likes to wear a helmet. When his mother unexpectedly has to go to China, Tom has to stay with his grandparents. Or is it really an expedition to Mars?
Sarah Winkenstette
She is a trained journalist and worked for various children's television programmes on WDR and ZDF before beginning her film studies at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Her debut film Too far away was released in cinemas in 2020 and won numerous awards at international film festivals. She has since directed various television films and series, including Castle Einstein (Schloss Einstein). Greetings from Mars is her second feature film.
