Sabine, frustrated by her injured hand preventing her from competing in a Taekwondo tournament, finds inspiration through a stop-motion workshop. She learns about Sophie Cruz, a fellow Taekwondo practitioner and daughter of migrant parents. At just 5 years old, Sophie halted deportations through activism for migrant rights.

Irma Avila Pietrasanta

Irma Ávila Pietrasanta is an audiovisual and documentary filmmaker specializing in working with children. As an activist for information rights, she has developed participatory methodologies for critically engaging with media and building citizenship, with a focus on rights through the project "Apantallados". With a strong background in film and television, her work has reached more than 80 communities in Mexico and Latin America and has been recognized by institutions such as UNICEF, UNESCO, and the OAS. She is currently working with children, teaching animation workshops and producing short films, and is also raising funds for the series Just Like Me, which will tell the stories of other incredible children like Sophie.
