When nine-year-old Indy learns that her father doesn’t have enough money for a birthday treat at school, she feels mortified. To keep her situation at home secret from her classmates at all costs, she decides to fix a treat herself.
Daniël Bakker
He was born in 1995 in Nijmegen. He directed several short films during his studies at the Netherlands Film Academy, including Touch the Leather,which premiered at Nowness and was selected for the Dutch Film Festival. He also assisted in directing films such as De Libi and King of the Road (Danyael Sugawara, 2019). Το Pocket change is his graduation film. His films feature intimate and relatable characters. He aims to continue creating visceral films that focus on youth and adolescence.
