"Are you in (the Media)?" Experiential workshop on Media Education

Starting with a fun digital interactive quiz on Media and Information, children participate in experiential media and digital literacy activities (expression, reflection, movement, creation and play) with emphasis on digital playful tools, focusing on issues such as online safety, new technologies, artificial intelligence, advertising, digital games, misinformation, etc.

Short biography 

Dimitris Papacharalambous is Head of the Department of Audiovisual Education and Research of the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center S.A.-Creative Greece, which develops and
implements audiovisual and digital education activities. He has a long service as a teacher and manager in Secondary Special Education and as a lecturer in the thematic fields of Cultural Representations in Cinema, Cultural Studies, Cultural Management and Special Education, at the Department of Media of the University of Athens, at the European Institute of Communication of the NTUA and at the University of Nicosia. He is an author of books and texts on cinema and a lyricist.

Matoula Papadimitriou works at the Department of Audiovisual Education and Research of the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center S.A.-Creative Greece, with the aim of developing audiovisual and digital literacy activities. As a specialist at the Children's Advocate (2003-2020) she organized and animated workshops and
activities with and for children. She has collaborated with the Olympia Film Festival and Camera Zizanio in workshops for children and teachers. She designs multimodal and intercultural pedagogical materials, collaborates with the University of Athens in teacher training programmes on children's rights and is a founding member of the "Article 12 Initiative".

The workshop will take place on Monday, December 2 in a school unit

Intended for 5th and 6th grade elementary or high school children (up to 25 children)
