The art of cinema is a language of communication, like all of the arts. If you learn to speak it, you can say whatever you want. And in such a way, that everyone understands you. You can tell the most fantastic and surreal stories, but you can also describe the deepest and most intense emotions.
In the beginning, participants will be introduced to the main tools of cinema - cameras, microphones, lights, etc. Then, they will be introduced to the other main tools of cinema - emotions.
Next, they will come up with a nice story. After that,they'll do editing, write the script, rehearse and shoot. After thatthey'll do editing. Finally, they'll screen the film and see if the emotions they cooked up tasted good.
The most important thing of all, though, is that they will work as a team and be creative in order to express something that is relevant to them; to talk about themselves, about the person next to them, about their joy and their fears, about their needs, about what they love.

Originally coming from the island of Kythera, he studied cinema and media in England. Since 1999, he has been working as a director and editor in cinema and television. Since 2002, he has been teaching directing and editing in film workshops, seminars and public education programmes. He collaborates with the non-profit organizations Neaniko Plano and Karpos in their film and audiovisual literacy educational programs. His film "Inhabiting Summers of History" was awarded the Best Short Film prize at Docfest 2018. At the 13th TV Awards (April 2010) "Faces" he received the Best Editing Award for the TV series "Matomena Homata".
