Saad Dnewar & Abdelrahman Dnewar
Saad Dnewar was an Egyptian filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. A multidisciplinary artist, he worked across various mediums, from animation to live-action. He gained his first international recognition with his short film in development My Brother, My Brother, he was accepted to study directing at the DFFB alongside his brother, but he tragically passed away at the young age of 29, just one month before the program began.
Abdelrahman Dnewar is an Egyptian filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany. He began his film career in 2012, when his first animated short, The Super Twins, was selected by the Ghetto Film School in Los Angeles and screened in their section at the Sundance Film Festival.He is currently studying at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (DFFB). Drawing on his background in visual arts, Abdelrahman seeks to discover the most compelling cinematic language and medium through which to tell his stories, and he has extensive experience working across various forms of visual art and film.
