Alexander Stamatiadis
He was born in 1999 and he is an award-winning Greek–German filmmaker, writer, and photographer based in Athens. His work across short films, music videos, and commercials is rooted in autobiography—heritage and its entanglements, the making of national and personal identity, and embodied memories of love and loss. He has collaborated widely across the Greek music scene and with major international brands, partnerships that have broadened his perspective and craft. In 2022, he directed the experimental dance short Thorn, selected by festivals including PÖFF Shorts and the Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Currently in development, his new short film Volta —produced by Neda Film and set to shoot in 2026—has been awarded funding from the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center.
