Fuqing, China. Eleven-year-old Wei lives with his grandmother and eight-year-old cousin. The cousin prepares to emigrate to live with her mother in Taiwan, but Wei, fearing their separation, secretly begins sabotaging the plan.
Wang Zhi Xiang
He is an emerging Taiwanese filmmaker, born in Fuzhou and later based in Taiwan. He made his mark with the semi-autobiographical short film One Body Two Sides (2018), which was selected for numerous domestic and international festivals. In 2019, he was invited to Germany by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Papenburg for an artist residency. His 2023 short film Let the Sun Rise was selected for the Beijing International Short Film Festival.
