The main purpose of the workshop is to learn the fundamental techniques of photography with a greater emphasis on recording and storytelling as well as the portrait. After being taught fundamental rules that make up a powerful photograph, children will be trained to create a photo-story by writing short descriptive captions. They will become familiar with photographing people (street photography) and finally they will set up a workshop with a photo booth, so that people in the city can come to be photographed.
Marilena Grispou
She's a photographer who was born and lives in Athens. She studied photography at Central Lancashire University in the UK (2011) and at the Leica Academy in Athens (2013-2015). She has specialized in cinema and filmmaking, and has attended documentary photography workshops with Enrij Canaj of Magnum. Her work was exhibited at the Antiparos International Photo Festival (2016). As a teacher at the "Karpos" Centre, she teaches photography to refugee minors and coordinates educational activities in schools. She focuses on social issues and minorities, and has experience in image processing, museum prints and motion graphics.
