From afterimage to moving image

Instructor:

Eugenia Koini

An exhibition of pre-cinematographic instruments offers children the unique opportunity to learn about the evolution of moving image techniques until the invention of cinema. Through functional exhibits, such as the zoetrope, the thaumatoscope and others, visitors will discover the technology that preceded the art of cinema and learn how it works and its applications. The exhibition is complemented by a short stop motion animation workshop, where children are introduced to one of the ways in which their favourite animations are made, creating cinematic exercises with easily accessible materials and technologies.
