Sand painting workshop
In this workshop children are introduced to the unique technique of Sand Art and develop their creativity by exploring new ways to tell a story. Together, we discover the endless possibilities for an artist to express themselves through the most unconventional materials.
his is a creative workshop where participants will write a script and bring its images to life by painting them with sand on a lighted glass surface, while also filming the process.
In this workshop:
- Θα μάθουμε την τέχνη και τη τεχνική SAND ART, ζωγραφική με την άμμο πάνω σε γυάλινη φωτεινή επιφάνεια.
- We become familiar with the documentary-animation genre
- We study the structure of both fiction and documentary scripts.
- We will create a collective film, painting our story with sand.
- At the end of the Workshop, a video will be produced with the participants' work-stories.
Instructor: Irina Boiko
She was born in Ukraine. She studied Theatre Directing at the State University of Culture and Arts in Kyiv and Film Directing at the Panavision School in Athens.
She has collaborated with various cultural organizations in Greece in the fields of cinema and theatre, also representing the country abroad. With her “White Puppet Theatre” and her “Baby Theatre,” she presents her performances at the Olvio Theatre and the Asomaton Art Space in Athens.
As an actress, she has worked in theatre and film both in Athens and Kyiv.
She has taught Puppetry in public schools in Athens, as well as theatre and film workshops for children and adults across Greece.
Since 2013, she has been the director of the Theatre Workshop of Milos.
She has also collaborated with Mikró Polytechneío as a lighting designer at the Pocket Theatre Festivals and as an instructor for adult workshops.
Her films have represented Greece at international festivals, earning awards and distinctions.
