Running images

An exhibition of pre-cinematographic instruments offers children the unique opportunity to learn about the evolution of moving image techniques until the invention of cinema. Through functional exhibits, such as the zoetrope, the thaumatoscope and others, visitors will discover the technology that preceded the art of cinema and learn how it works and its applications. They will then create their own pre-cinematic game and learn about the concept of storyboarding, learning how to compose images and create a story. The aim of the workshop is to reveal the mechanisms of the moving image and encourage children to explore the expressive possibilities offered by audiovisual language.
