Lucas, a 13-year-old boy, is wheelchair bound after suffering an accident. Laís, a 12-year-old girl, helps her mother selling breakfast at a truck stop, in the small town where they live. The girl would love to meet her father, a truck driver who left when she was a child and never returned. Laís and Lucas become friends in school, and when she finds out where her father might be, the two set off on a trip.
Mauro D’Addio
Brazilian director and scriptwriter. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Cinema from FAAP (Sao Paulo). In 2016 he released the youth short film “Kunumi: The Native Thunder”. Among several works, his fiction film highlights are the shorts “Disorder” and “Unveiled Mary”, which were screened in venues like Hamburg, as well as winning the Revelation Prize at the Sao Paulo Int. Film Fest. “On Wheels” is his first feature film.
