Maria is caught between childhood and adolescence. After the sudden death of her classmate, she is once again confronted with loss. As she attempts to cope with this absence, Maria tries to find her own way to say goodbye to her loved one.
Despina Kourti
Despina Kourti was born in Rhodes. She studied Law and Film in Athens. Her first short, The doll (2014) premiered at the Athens IFF. Her second short, Ourania (2017), won four awards at the Drama International Short Film Festival and the script prize at the Athens IFF. She was supported by the 1st Artworks program of the Niarchos Foundation. Her short film Old West (2020) had its national premiere at the Drama International Short Film Festival and its international premiere at the Short Shorts Film Festival 2021.
