In Isfahan, Iran, Melina lives with her grandparents after her parents’ divorce, as neither is willing to take custody. Melina wants to live with her mother, but both her father and stepfather oppose it. Her mother struggles to balance her relationship with her new spouse and her bond with Melina. On her 9th birthday, Melina becomes old enough to bring her custody case to court, hoping to choose her guardian, unaware of the complexities that lie ahead.
Atiye Zare Arandi
She was born in Isfahan in April of 1990. She has a bachelor's degree in Film Directing and a master's degree in Dramatic Literature. She started her professional career with short narrative films, but in recent years, she has become more interested in documentary filmmaking.
